Harry Potter? Good?

Last night, Zahier called me and said, "Adi, kau buat ape? Nak gi tgk Harry Potter tak?"
I've been alone in my room this past few days watching animes, making gundam, completing my Megatron project. So, I figure it'd be nice to go out and watch the movie plus, the movie was only released the day before. It's a rare chance to get to watch movies as popular as Harry Potter this early to its release date.

The movie's trailers all looks promising. Pretty cool actually. So I said, "boleh jer, kalau tiket masih ade."



So in short, we went to Alamanda, Putrajaya and purchased the tickets(one of Zahier's friend had booked a number of tickets beforehand).

The show was at 12:30am. Midnight screening yo~ ^^

Fast forward till after the movie.



My impression of the movie was..."What??? Is this it??"

Yeah...I'm literally disappointed with this movie. For me, it's even worse than the previous installment.

In general, plot-wise, it was slow-paced, lots of lovey-dovey stuffs, no real backstory, and too long.

As if you didn't know the story already.. It's Harry Potter... You are bound to hear spoilers anyway... Like Dumbledore died, Snape is the Half-Blood Prince... Ooops!




Anyway, from what I can describe from watching the movie this one time, about 3/4 of the movie revolves around Harry's social life. Yeah... I'm serious. Okay, I might have exaggerate that a little bit, but, you know what I mean.

Too much screen time taken just to explain Harry's relationship with Ginny, Ron with Hermione. By the way, Hermione's cute!! Damnit!! Focus!

There are too much unnecessary scenes in my opinion. And then they tried to cramp all the necessary explanation towards the end of the movie.

For example, Dumbledore's death. It's suppose to be the climax of this movie but this is how it happen.

Dumbledore asks Harry to hide below the level their on and don't reveal himself no matter what happens. Harry hesitated at first, but eventually follows Dumbledore's requests. (They are in some sort of tower btw) Then, Draco Malfoy went up the stairs, meet Dumbledore, points his wand at Dumbledore.

Dumbledore tried to talk sense into Draco but without much success. Draco apparently without much fight(or without any fight at all), easily disarmed Dumbledore from his wand, who is apparently one of the greatest wizards of all time. Make sense eh?

Then Draco hesitated. His mission was to kill Dumbledore but he somehow couldn't find the will to do it. Then the Death Eaters came. Dumbledore greets them. The Death Eaters forces Draco to kill Dumbledore. Then Snape came.

This is what happen:
Dumbledore: Severus, please...
Snape: Avada Kedabra!(I wonder if it's the right spelling)

KABLAM!!!!
Dumbledore falls of the tower and died.

Just like that!!!

Then the scene where they reveal the Half-Blood Prince..

After Dumbledore died, Harry chases Snape who is going towards Hagrid's house.
After a little fight. Harry loses.

Snape: How do you expect to use my own spell against me.(Something like that)

Harry looks at snape in amazement.

Snape: Yes, I am the Half-Blood Prince.

Just like that!! The revelation of the Half-Blood Prince! That simple? No backstory, no flashbacks... Somehow Snape became important in this movie...

Voldemort didn't even get any screen time in this movie.

Like I said. To me, the movie pace was flat to the end. There were snoring all around me.


So, it was pretty disappointing movie for me. I got back, do a little search. Guess what? The movie got 80% approval from the mainstream movie critics!! 80%!!

To give you some idea,

The first review of the film came three weeks before the official release. Paul Dergarabedian of Hollywood.com ranked the film with The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and called the film a "possible Oscar misscontender". He highly praised the performance of Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman and Daniel Radcliffe. He commented, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a tour-de-force that combines style and substance, special effects and heart and most importantly great performances from all of the actors young and not-so-young". Another early review came from the UK tabloid The Sun, whose anonymous reviewer called the film "masterful" and "very emotional". The reviewer praised David Yates' directing and called Jim Broadbent's portrayal of Horace Slughorn "perfect".[104] Devin Faraci of Chud.com called the film not only the best Harry Potter film yet, but also one of the best films of the year. -taken from Wikipedia of course

See? And everyone I see went out of the cinema complaining. I was restless in my seat halfway through.

Call me "low standard" or anything, but I enjoyed Dragonball Evolution more than this movie.

Transformers 2 on the other hand, got flamed tremendously by movie critics, some says, "too many explosions", "bad acting", "too many plotholes", bla bla bla. Hell, they even called the twin robots racist because one of them having gold tooth & they speak with african american accents.. What the hell? There are white dudes who speak like that too. Plus, it was explained in the first movie that the transformers learned earth languages from the internet. Which is why jazz has an accent as well.

Project Beautifying Megatron Phase 2

Alright! Finally got phase 2 done!

Okay, in the previous phase, I've removed unwanted color(s) on the figure. So, now in this phase what I did was adding more colors to the figure, which was a lot of work.

Luckily, Megatron's color scheme is quite simple. Grey/Silver & Black... that's it. So, to add more flavor to the color scheme, I add some gold in there, which is the only color I add on this figure. It would have been nicer if I had different shades of gold, but I only have one. It'll do just fine I think.

So this was when phase 2 was halfway done, so you can see the difference in the parts that have been added gold color and the parts that have not.

Movie on Sunday

Watched Ice Age 3 today with Threza and her siblings at Tropicana City Mall. I didn't even know the place was there..Now I know.


The ps3 games there are also quite decently priced. Some of the old games are priced at only RM129. Hell, that's the price usually found in lelong.com...

The movie was soooo funny at one part I laughed myself to tears.
It is definitely a worthy sequel to the Ice Age movies.

Apparently, there will be a new version of Leader Class Optimus Prime will be released soon. In this version, Prime will have his gun and his face will be the exposed version(without the mouth plate).

A little update for my Megatron project. I'm currently halfway through phase 2. ^^

Project Beautifying Megatron Phase 1

Firstly, let me introduce him.

Meet Leader Class Megatron from Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen toy-line.

As stated on its box,

"Rebuilt with parts Cannibalized from other Decepticons, Megatron rises once again to lead his army. Though the AllSpark destroyed him once, he can now feel its power coursing through his circuitry. It calls him to seize his rightful place as ruler over the puny planet on which he was imprisoned and destroyed, and from which he will launch his conquest of the universe. Optimus Prime is all that stands between him and victory, and the Autobot leader has done a poor job of hiding himself. At long last, Megatron knows exactly where his enemy is, and he has power enough to destroy him."

Stated also on the box, "Ages 5+".
Though this might look like a toy for children, I'm gonna do something that I'm sure kids don't do to their transformers toys.

I'm gonna beautify my Megatron further.

Overall, I've decided to break down this project into a few phases.

What I do in this phase is simply removing unwanted colors. On Megatron, there is only one part which has an unwanted color in my opinion. That is, the red panel on his right arm/cannon.

Basically I just soaked cotton buds with thinner and rub them on the paint to remove the existing color.

To me, the red color on his arm seemed out of place to his color scheme so, I decide to remove it before going further.

Transformers 2

I'm back in the mood ^^(YES!!)

First of all I would like to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes whether through sms, facebook or myspace. This is the busiest day for my Facebook & phone. Thank you again.

Transformers 2 movie has been out for a while now and its worldwide gross of 600+ million and still going strong(i guess). The movie actually got serious bashing from professional critics and some of the fans. Some said that "Too many explosions", "147 minutes of explosions", "Bad acting", "Bad storyline", "Too many plot-holes", and so-on.

And guess what? The movie still goes strong in terms of numbers. I've read one tag-line in one site(which i couldn't remember which site) that says "Transformers 2 might be the highest selling bad movie." Something like that.

Whatever people say either he's a professional or not, it doesn't matter. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the movie. Watched it 5 times.. and still wanna watch it again.. if i can.

I've bought the prequel comics for the movie as well. There are 2 books "Alliance" and "Defiance". Each book consists of 4 parts.

I will write about these prequels in another post soon.

Other than that, now I have 4 toys from this movie toy line. First,

Optimus Prime(Leader Class),

Bumblebee(Human Alliance),

Ironhide(Voyager Class),

Megatron(Leader Class).

All four in vehicle mode.

Hopefully I will be able to get some more from this toyline...teeheehee....

Just woke up...

About the quiz, I can answer 90% of all the questions but my level of confidence... well... I'd say at most 30%. Luckily half of the questions are MCQs. I have to buy the text book. *sigh*

Apparently she read my blog too. Whatever happens, I'm still entitled to write about how I really feel. I can't stay politically correct every time and ignore my feelings. If she wants to be affected by my writings, that's entirely up to her.

Maybe this is the only way she'll forget me. This will be for the best.

Now hopefully this is my last pointless rantings about this thing. Seriously, for the actual boyfriend, I wanna say this, though I may not know you:
"Dude, I'm sorry if it ever comes to the point of you knowing this thing. It's purely unintentional. I have absolutely NO IDEA! you get what I mean?"

Thursday morning~

I didn't sleep last night.. because my band was having a very late interview at Capital FM. I'm glad it goes OK. I didn't talk very much unless asked directly(as usual).

And guess what? That someone misses me. What the hell?? I might as well just ignore her.

Now I'm off to class for a quiz... Quiz.. please don't be so hard.... Have mercy!!!

Easier Said Than Done

I'm back ^^....

Finally..

A bunch of things happened to me this week.

Firstly, I'd like to welcome back my laptop from "almost dead" state. -_-"

Yeah..2 days ago, it was sunday, my laptop just "died" suddenly just when I was in the middle of watching Naruto...and it was on its good part of the story too...damn... not really died but more like, crashed.. bunch of green colored stripes all over my monitor. When I restarted my laptop, the screen shows some mysteriously decipherable image which I simply just could not comprehend....I see... symbols... what could it be?








I was just kidding.. the backlight still functions but the monitor displays nothing.. just black screen.. I tried restarting it a couple of times but with the same result. I can hear all the sounds of Vista logging in and I blindly typed my password to successfully log in my laptop. Then, I would press the Windows key, and tapped right direction a few times, hoping that it would highlight the Shutdown command, which I successfully had done a few times until I'm quite sure there was something unrecoverable about the display thingy in my laptop.

So, I decided to go out that day. Can't call for services because it was Sunday. So I went to Mid Valley, bought 3 comic books(Prequels for the Transformers 2 movie and its adaptation), bought 1 transformers which I'll tell about in other post and tried to make a duplicate of my house key(cyberjaya house).

The house key has another story of its own...which i might tell later on.

Basically I go to other few places after that, then that evening have some practice with Freeloaders INC for some event on Wednesday.

The next day(Monday), about 9am, I woke up and called Dell to ask them to repair my laptop. They sent someone on the next day(Tuesday) and changed the whole motherboard & hard disk. Apparently the problem lies in my display adapter and my hard disk... T_T

So, now my laptop has a brand spanking new brain & HDD. ^^ I just hope I can make backups for all those precious data on my old HDD.

Now about the house key, to summarize, I practically already made 3 duplicates of the house key & none of them seem to work. What the hell??! Have to go again to the shop tomorrow to ask them make the key properly.

So that's it for the troublesome stuff that happened.

Something 'good' happened to me about last week if I'm not mistaken... I finally (presumed) that I ended my single life and get into a proper relationship with someone. I was happy. Yeah.. who doesn't? Cinta berputik semua mau jiwang2.. XD
I was content. I feel blessed. I feel all those good things in such a short amount of time.

Learned something shocking(at least it is shocking for me) tonight. Apparently, the girl, IS CURRENTLY in a relationship with another guy. It looks like I was just there as a substitute because at the time her boyfriend doesn't seem to give her enough attention(don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing. This is just my understanding of her situation with her bf)

Maybe this is not a big deal to anyone, but it is, at least shocked me like "What the F?" but I said "it's OK. I'm okay. I can handle it. No big deal. Things like these are normal. We can't force how we feel to one another. Bla bla bla." All those positive stuff.

IT'S EASIER SAID THAN DONE.

I can't blame the girl though. I'm at fault as well. What the hell am I doing falling for the girl so fast.

Hey, I'm no saint. Just an ordinary guy with ordinary mental capabilities. So, naturally I was upset. Damn. I guess I don't have the luck for getting into this relationship stuff. Better just concentrate on other things.

My first post in July is this pointless ranting. Bear with me(for anyone who's reading this post) ^^
